DRIVING TRADESHOWS IN A NEW DIRECTION

The Ask

How can we deliver a never-been-done-before virtual trade show experience for CrowdStrike -
a global leader in cybersecurity - that engages attendees from across the globe
and maintains momentum from past IT conferences?

Leveraging CrowdStrike’s partnership with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, we developed a real, remote controlled car race where drivers got behind the wheel (virtually) and navigated the wild terrain of cybersecurity threats with speed and efficiency — just like CrowdStrike. We built a physical custom track with 3D-printed cars, produced a live broadcast with professional commentators, and designed the live racing game which cleverly integrated brand messaging and product education.

The Qualifier: A digital race simulation designed to build hype, train future drivers, and determine who would advance to the live race day. Winners earned a coveted slot behind the (remote) wheel.

The stakes got real. Finalists from around the world remotely controlled custom 3D-printed cars on a physical track, while cameras captured every drift, and commentators Amanda Busick and Mike Van Steyn called the action. The final race wrapped with a closing ceremony and a custom trophy for the winner — plus serious bragging rights.
