In the age of social media, the line between fan and stan culture has never been blurrier. What used to be casual admiration (remember when fan mail wasn’t an unsolicited DM at 2 a.m.?) has evolved into a full-on lifestyle. Fandom has its perks—bringing people together, creating communities, and rallying behind the things we love—but what happens when it goes too far?

Digital spaces fuel this intensity, creating a perfect storm where fan bases are always online, always connected, and sometimes way too invested. It’s a fine balance—adoration versus obsession, community versus parasocial fixation.

So, we asked the MAS team: where do they draw the line between fan and the darker side of stan culture?

We've all seen how stanning can get a little intense (say it with us: boundaries. are. important.). But, our Head of Creative, Ari, has us thinking: “Should we phase this word out of our culture? Or maybe, should we redefine it?” Because let’s face it—sometimes, you just can’t help but be a little obsessed. Whether it’s an album that hits just right, an iconic TV show, or a new side of TikTok you’ve stumbled upon, we’ve all got our things. So, here’s a peek at what a few of us on the MAS team are unapologetically into right now—no judgment, just passion.

Arianna, Director of Creative is loving SIMS, Brad Nailers, and pizza.

Mareya, Assistant Art Director is loving, The Magic Puzzle Company, Facebook Marketplace, and Mango Ceylon tea.

Maya, Creative Strategist is loving Love Island (season 6 ONLY), Sundrop Garden, and Women Who Run with Wolves.

Now that you know what we’re obsessed with, let’s talk about where we’re indulging our fandoms. From digital rabbit holes to IRL meetups, here’s where the MAS team goes to stan, fan, and geek out.

Whether you’re a fan, stan, or somewhere in between, we want to know! Find us on social at @experiencemas and let’s see where our fandoms collide—or clash. Either way, we’re here for it.
